Yup - I've considered it.....pricing wise though its in the same vein as the Nexus 5 and I'd rather just go with pure stock Android ala the Nexus line.
I do like what I've seen from the Moto X though. I briefly owned a Moto G and thought it was great - especially for the price. Just want any phone I own to have LTE.

Oh I know it does. But the price is exactly the same as the Nexus 5....and the Moto X doesn't have anything that I prioritize over the Nexus 5 - especially if I were to spend the same amount of money.

I've been using Android only for years. It has never been buggy, unstable, or unreliable and mine has been rooted since the day I got it home and has had a large variety of custom ROMs on it. I have tweaked CPU, GPU, and RAM behavior, you name it. If any phone is going to be unstable, it should be mine.
Samsungs TouchWiz looks cheap along with their materials. The T-Mobile Representative recommended the Xperia and I loved it. But then reality set in. The very first thing I notice is that the Xperia z1s doesn't notify you during standby mode. It only shows a red or blue dot. Sure I downloaded a notifier app, but it wasn't reliable and it didn't give many details. Then I noticed that this battery is not nearly as good as the iPhone. People love to blame Sony.
sounds like a lot of poor-selection and shopping issues to me vs the phone. Also, some setup and usage concerns.
But in reality it's the software - Android. Android is a lot like Microsoft Windows. It crashes a lot and is completely unreliable. Will the phone make a sound when I get a text or Facebook message? Maybe, depends on the day.
I'm in disbelief you can't find complaints on Android. Hell, people will complain about anything and everything. However, at the end of the day, perhaps many just look further into how to set up and use their phones?
