Surprised there isn't a thread up about this phone yet.

With the LG G2 having one of the best screens, best cameras and best batteries of 2013 the LG G3 has a lot to live up to.

So far here are the rumors:

1440x2560 resolution screen that measures 5.5 inches. 534 pixel-per-inch (ppi) density

Instead of choosing Qualcomm’s beastly Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor, LG will apparently opt for its very own octa-core Odin processor. That means the G3’s brain will have four 2.2GHz Cortex-A15 cores and another four 1.7GHz Cortex-A7 cores for less demanding tasks.

13MP rear camera with 4k recording. A leaked image supposedly captured with the G3’s camera suggests that, although the resolution remains the same, it has been refined to deliver impressive detail.

Custom processor?

And there goes custom ROM support.

That's a great point.......... Dr McKay. If it does have a very unique not used before processor. the devs will not be able to support it. Unless LG releases support drivers for it.....

I hope they also bring out a 6 inch G3 Pro like they did with the G2 Pro. But at the same time. Not almost a year later.

Only weak points I see are no SD card and limited embedded memory...

Also the rear button placement sucks, IMO, and the external speaker is extremely weak and I depend on that. Also the software isn't as well put together as it could be.

Will it be out in Q3 or Q4? I guess this may form the basis for the Nexus 6..
Yup. Rumored the "lightweight" version of the G3 just like Nexus 4 & 5 vs its 2012 & 2013 LG flagship cousins. Worse camera, worse battery, lower price.

I find LG' skin a chaotic mess because it's a spin of an already atrocious skin, Touchwiz.

What I find interesting is that manufacturers still don't make things an appropriate size for the larger displays of an android phone. If you compare the icon size from a phone like the Note 3 to an iPhone, they are the same size and leave a lot of empty, unused space on the homescreen.

I like LGs phones but hate the LG interface / skin, more so than Touchwiz even. Wish Google made all manufacturers give customers the option of using stock or manufacturers version when first setting up the device.

Use Nova launcher to scale icons.

Nobody is talking about it or cares because it's LG.

Well, actually, a lot of us tech geeks do, given that LG is consistently delivering new tech as first (at least on Android). For example, usable OIS in a decent camera as of the G2. Which the Samsung S5 painfully lacks...

If that were to be the case than OEMs would have no incentive to create their own skins. Or use android for that matter. Without their own custom skins and apps OEMs making nothing off of android itself.

I wish there was a way for us to avoid the custom vendor skin. Most of the time they are useless. BUT.....that is the only way the vendor can deliver any features that do not come with pure vanilla Android. Pure Android is pretty bland. Most of the buying public might not want something so bland.......
I just wish there was a way to remove all the bloat without having to root. Like maybe order any new phone with Cyanogenmod preinstalled......
