I think it's cause for concern as typically things like this operate in a 'monkey see, monkey do' mentality. Soon we will be hearing reports coming in from around the country of lines forming, unless the stores put a stop to it.

Well, yeah, extra, because its just a phone. Just like the Wiis, PS3s and 360s are just a game console. If standing outside for 4 days in NYC meant you'd get a Ferrari for free or something, I'd book a plane ticket right now, but standing outside for 4 days to purchase any product is just extra crazy 😉

I say at least 5 people need to be present before it can be called a line. And it can't be called "the start" of the line until more people join. Bit like a "one night stand" can only be so named when the other person doesn't call after 3 days. Fact.

Im sorry, but you guys are morons. Its MONDAY for gods sake. Even if they started at 6pm monday, they would be out there for f'king 96 hours. Plus the added effect of others going "Crap! There are people on line already!?" will cause others to go out earlier than needed. Not trying to be a hater, but i really hope it POURS all week, until friday....some people have NOTHING to do.

Don't get mad. Some people want the iPhone more then you. If I really wanted it as bad as them I would have taken a week off of work, but instead I just took off Friday.

Chill out ... people who line up this early do it to get attention and thats what you are giving them, the attention they require.
i know its a bit crazy but i also find it pretty cool, heck if i wasnt stuck with verizon id be in line too! its summer vacation still looking for a job, so i have so much free time why not get in line, get on TV and have some fun...beleive me its probably a great experience. 🙄 😀

I am honestly not mad at them. I waited outside 2 days for a PS3, so I have nothing against guys who camp...but 4 days is 2 days too many. Plus, they gave out the PS3's in the morning...im more angry about the ripple effect this will have

You waited 2 days for a PS3, where most of the people I know who camped for it camped for 3-4 days. Many lines formed very early for it.
Everyone wants an iPhone a little more then someone else. Most people would even think that going the night before is excessive. To each their own, I hope this ends up on the news so they get their 10 minutes of fame 😀
