Almost three years for me, but I plan to keep my 13 Pro until it looses support. Upgrading doesn't bring me joy.

My ex went from a 2G iPhone (bought a few weeks after launch) to the 6S, so that's eight years (2007 to 2015).

Bought my iPhone XR new in October 2018 and I'm still using it. Was tempted to finally upgrade this year to an iPhone 15, but I think I'll wait to see if the XR is dropped from iOS 18 as I suspect it might be and then update in Fall of 2024 to an iPhone 16 Pro and any new generative AI they introduce.

I had the XR for three years before I went to the Samsung S21+? I wanted to get back into the Apple EcoSystem and got the 14+ but it was a downgrade. Glad I got the 15 Pro Max and I think this phone will go the longest before I upgrade again (Unless Vision pro just replaces everything and we turn into a Ready Player One type society).

7 to 11, so 3 years. This was tricky to calculate thanks to the bizarre naming convention when 8 and X came out together when it should have been 7s, but then we had Xs? Otherwise I've been on a 2 year cycle since my first iPhone, a 3G, so I went 3G -> 4 -> 5 -> 6 -> 7 -> 11 -> 13 mini -> 15 Pro. My ideal iPhone would be the features of my 15 Pro in the size of the 13 mini, but barring that I'm pretty happy right now!

Still on 8+, 6 years and counting. Got battery replaced by apple earlier this year so a single charge gets through a work week. Turning the phone off every night basically doubled it.

Plan to use it for another 2 more years
