iPad The M1 chip on iPad Pro

I have the Mini 5 and it runs iPad OS just fine. How would the M1 chip in the IPad Pro be any different especially since IPad OS may not need it? Does the M1 seem like overkill for iPad OS?

Plenty of power apps available for the iPad which can use the extra oomph, regardless of this weird fascination that the os is ‘not a proper os’ and therefore makes anything but the most basic iPad pointless.

I think it really depends on what you do with the iPad. For the majority of users. M1 isn't much of a benefit. For a few there is a benefit. Such as multimedia creators and gamers obsessed with FPS.

100% this. I use multiple apps that are resource heavy.

16GB of RAM for a iPad????? Come on thats way overkill!!!! I have 16GB of RAM on my Mac and thats plenty enough for most users.

If you do 3D modeling, design, or illustration 16 gigs is absolutely a bonus. Sounds like you need a standard iPad and not a Pro.

Not everyone uses devices like you, and most users will not be buying the 16GB Ram models.

Also like these people seem to not comprehend that memory/processor/graphics resources are used for more things than just the OS itself. Like do any of these guys understand how computers work at all?

It's like saying "iPad OS is only 20 gigs, why would you need more than a 20gig SSD in it?!?"

If you're this clueless about this stuff, don't buy $1400 tablets. Go buy a standard iPad and stop commenting on the state of their higher tier models.
