As an owner of the Z Fold7 I'm completely happy with the folding phone form factor.This. I would be very interested in a fold, especially if it were as thin as the Galaxy Fold.
I agree with you. I wonder how much the fold impacts the Pro models. The other challenge is where will Apple price the iPhone fold. Will it be comparable to the Z Fold or north of $2K? I imagine it will probably be similar to 2 iPhone Air folded together with a dual camera layout, with all the same specs as the iPhone Pro models. And I fully expect Apple to ask double the iPhone Air, at least. I think it needs to be priced comparable to what you can get a Pro model iPhone and iPad mini.As an owner of the Z Fold7 I'm completely happy with the folding phone form factor.
As a long time Apple customer I believe in Apples capability to build a folding iPhone superior to the competition.
However that said, will they?
Or will they build a compromised device like my iPhone Air, where it’s missing key features in the interest of cost cutting.
I'm eager to own a folding iPhone as long as they don't short change buyers on features as they did with the Air.
Yes indeed, it will be interesting to see how the iPhone Fold impacts iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.I agree with you. I wonder how much the fold impacts the Pro models. The lack of promotion killed the mini for me - esp after all the screen tearing issues.Having owned each version of iPad mini to date, this rumored version 8 sounds good but not compelling.
iPad mini 7 seems to be the sweet spot, mainly due to its features vs price point. Although it could be argued it’s overpriced by $100 as compared to the price of the base iPad.
Then there’s the rumored $100 increase for mini 8 which simply isn’t worth it unless the new features appeal to those who are not adverse to such a premium price.
I think if the base iPad is about to get the latest A series cpu as a super upgrade Apple would have to justify giving the mini something a bit more than the same cpu. Pro-motion and higher brightness would be the logical thing especially as the mini is most likely to be used in the field. The lack of promotion killed the mini for me - esp after all the screen tearing issues.
I mean that's the common sense play but Apple is a finance innovation company now. I feel like great products is an occasional by-product of their main focus.I think if the base iPad is about to get the latest A series cpu as a super upgrade Apple would have to justify giving the mini something a bit more than the same cpu. If the iPad mini 8 has an OLED screen would it improve matters though?I mean that's the common sense play but Apple is a finance innovation company now. I feel like great products is an occasional by-product of their main focus.
I tried the 7 again at the Apple Store, yesterday. It's actually a tiny bit wider than my erroneous memory of it - still ok to type on like a big phone. The screen is just awful, though, especially when you swipe to the apps screen where they all fly out of nowhere... It makes me want to shut my eyes until it finishes.
