Like the titles says, what is for the most stupid thing on videogames?

At the top of my head would on zombies games, they ask money for food or ammo. Eventually they will die so why ask money? :p

Holding hand cut-scences and gameplay.

E.g. move mouse to turn around, press space to jump etc

Back in the old days people were more intelligent and could figure it out for themselves.:cool:

Adrift in a sea of possibilities
Quick time events. Go ahead and test my reflexes by making me press a button quickly to respond to an event, but don't make me repeatedly mash the **** out of a button to make something happen, it's stupid.

-Tacked on single player.
-Digital Distribution,
-PS+ "free" games (You have to keep your PS+ Subscription going or else you lose access to those games. So when PS3 is dropped from support, those games will be useless),
-On Disk DLC.
-Encroaching DRM.

PS Free games are just rentals though, for the life of the system. The reason why I subscribe is to get discounted games, so in the end I save money. Cloud saves and subscription-rental games are just the icing on the cake. It's more like Netflix than buying a show on DVD.

Mine:

- The calculated removal of game data to sell back as DLC.
- Lack of dedicated server support resulting in old multiplayer games dying.

Most DLC I find unacceptable for the price. Especially if it is just some dumb unlockable. I miss the days of true expansion packs.

Rattata Joey calling me every half hour on Pokemon Silver.

Quick time events. They're understandable in scripted moments, but used too much and the game begins to seem a bit ****.

COD players. Every time I try that damn game there is always some argument about hackers/noobs/lag. It as though they are trying their best not to enjoy the game.

Eternal franchises. Like Halo and COD. Draw the line and start something new before ideas become stale and everything starts to become stupid.

season passes ...... [money grab]

I don't mind those when they're 75% off in a Steam sale. Picked up the Bioshock Infinite one for something very cheap (a few quid I think), for 2 bits of story DLC and some disposable battle thing.

I made it a sub quest in Heart Gold to breed a Rattata of Death so Joey could be put in his place.

Sadly steam sales are an exception, but console wise most of them are crap for the money.

Dead Rising 3's for example is €30 for content that is forced on you in a patch you already downloaded. Paying for it is basically just unlocking content on the patch you already have and basically is 4 different characters with a few new weapons ... It's just so overpriced. €10 maybe - €30? GTFOFH

I'm the minority I think, I like DLCs, they generally extend the playability of the game. But then again, most of the games I love and buy the DLCs for, the DLC is more story (Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Saints Row, etc).

Saint's Row is the worst for it. I foolishly preordered SR4, after seeing all the DLC that was released (weapons, items, clothes, missions) I'm now going to wait on any game in the series until there's a "complete" edition.

Also annoyingly, and Borderlands did this too, but US shops would get special DLC for preorders that did not make its way to Europe. Except later on when we had to pay for it.

I hate it when the camera angle changes suddenly and now instead of going straight, you suddenly start going to the left or whatever. I died many times in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time because of that.

I'll be honest, I forgot about the weapon pack DLCs. I just remembered the ones like Homies in Space and the like. I think outside of the weapons you get in the story DLCs, I haven't bought a single weapon pack.

I can understand why people don't like them, I'm of the mindset that weapon/costume packs are 100% optional. It's kinda like the Mass Effect ones, I've known people who bought the weapon/costume packs, and they don't change the story, or add/subtract from the game.

With all that said, I completely agree about the regional DLC. Because the UK and Japan gets stuff that is different or more than what we get. Case in point; my Bayonetta Collector's Edition is from the UK, because it came with a replica of Scarborough Faire, and my PS3 is a Japanese FFXIII white edition, and my copy of Black Rock Shooter is from Japan because it was packaged with a White Rock figma.

Free to play games that is really a code word for pay to win.

Free to play games are not really free.

Quick time events during cutscenes. I normally put the controller down during them and always get caught by surprise.

- Excessive freemium;
- Checkpoint-only saves (I see this as an easy way to increase the difficulty);
- Overall staleness of the market (almost all AAA titles since ~2010 are dumbed down for consoles).
