I hope the new folder design is temporary. I don't like it at all. Hope Apple changes back to previous designs.

It look very odd when using a background pictures. Maybe it looks better with solid color. I hope this only is temporary and Apple will change it back.
I hope Apple switches back to the old design too...

I have an almost totally black background and the "new" folder design is not good.
It was like this in DB4, got better (ie went back to normal) in DB5 and regressed in DB6. Either Apple are experimenting (unlikely, as I doubt they read forums looking for opinions) or their source control isn't the best. That's also unlikely, but I can't think of a third reason

I can't stand them, there isn't a difference in them when switching between light and dark mode which is quite bothersome since the folder design was one of my favourite parts of dark mode.

I actually quite like the folders. At least with the background in your example.
