The new HBO Max update breaks HDR.

Just updated and now none of the HDR movies play in HDR/Dolby. Tested with WW1984 and a few others. Worked fine before.

Most if not all the 4k DV titles were downgraded to 2k SDR in several platforms. On my Firetv 4K, I turned on advanced stats in dev menu. Justice League Director‘s Cut is the only thing that plays in Native DV. The rest of 4k titles are <2k SDR. If you have a mac you may be able to access dev menu on atv to see resolution and dynamic range.

HBOMax...application....was written either to jerk Apples chain or by coders in Into to Coding/App Building 101. Sucked before the update and not surprised it still sucks.
