@ cy88 Thanks for posting those pictures, amazing! I fell in love with the 27-inch iMac as soon as I saw it on the Apple store. Also, great to see that the 27-inch iMac isn't taller than the 24-inch model.
There's only two things stopping me getting my dream iMac...
1 - The Core i7 SKU isn't out until November,
2 - I need + $1000 to actually be able to buy it - I don't use credit. 😉
You welcome. I haven't even seen the 27" when I bought it. I just KNOW that I'll like it
😀
I was the first one that got it from the store before they even have one on display.
guys, some videos would be fantastic
videos of the imac running a HD movie or a game with high settings 🙂
I'll see what i can do for you. If I have the time I'll take some 1080p videos of the iMac playing 1080p contents.
great to hear that the mouse is good, i have high expectations!
cy88: can i ask why you bought a new imac and not just a big external screen?
The more I use the mouse, the more I like it.
🙂
I have limited desk space (and room space), and having a machine that does it all + more for my need is just perfect. I use it as my daily PC and photography work majority of the time. Now I can even plug in the spare cable box that I have when the adapter is available to use it as a 27" TV in my room!
I am going to be selling my 24" iMac, so the price difference for the upgrade is probably just enough for me to really buy a 2560 x 1440, IPS 27" screen.
Helps a lot! Could you pls also tell me the distance between desk and beginnen of the panel itself? 🙂
Will find that out when I get home tonight, or maybe someone else can fill you in
😉
have you noticed the hard drive noise, mine seems to making a rite racket, and when i boot lets say iphoto, its taking around 20-30 seconds to boot up and the hard drive seems to be really working hard and can really notice the sound..
I am not aware of any of the performance issue with it. Have you done the update that got pushed out recently? I believe that was pertaining to hard drive performance issue. I did the update as soon as I got it.
Can't you just tap the power button on the back to put the iMac to sleep? This worked on previous models -- how about this one?
Bryan
Alternatively, if you just want to turn off the monitor, just do Shift + Ctrl + Eject, that'll sleep the screen only. I do that each night before I sleep just because it's way too bright!
