He should leave it but it's really a judgment call on his part. I mean if you live in an apartment complex that looks ghetto looking he might not leave it but other than that he probably will leave it.

Where do you live? Was there any holdups with your payment that might have delayed shipment?

I'm in Colorado. I called Apple a couple of times, they just said no worries everything is good. They also said my iPads will be shipped from CA.

Mine also went from Middletown, PA to Indianapolis, IN. Funny thing is that I live about an hour east of Columbus, OH. They drove right thru my town on the way to Indy. I'm guessing it's part of a bulk semi-trailer shipment, and they are doing further sorting in Indy, prior to dispatching them to us. My shipping method still remains at overnight with a before 3pm on 03/16 delivery status.

Yup! Same here.

Nah, it's a leafy G-rated New England seaside community so I'll hope for the best. If the driver bails on the pre-sign I'll just tough it out with the gen 1 until Monday.

Just FYI for delivery times for UPS. I've only had experience with UPS Ground type delivery and they always deliver later in the afternoon but with the UPS Worldwide Express delivery we're getting, I do hope they adhere to their scheduled delivery time and I'm hoping it's before 10:30 am but hell even before noon would be nice. :D

I usually get UPS packages in the afternoon, too - I saw that with Worldwide Express about it being 10:30AM - possibly noon. That wold be über awesome - but I am not sure... One can hope!! :D

I'm trying to not look at the info anymore since mine has been stuck. It left Alaska days ago & I don't know where it is still.

There is a notice to iPad customers under "Live Chat" (bottom left hand corner) if you have not seen it - saying :

"When will my iPad be delivered?* Apple has required that UPS deliver iPad shipments to customers on and not before Friday, March 16, 2012. iPads scheduled for delivery on Friday, March 16, 2012 have a delivery commitment of end of the day."

Funny, I live in California and mine is stuck in Louisville, Kentucky since the 11th.

I called UPS about a signature requirement and they said it was required. The rep also mentioned that if they failed to deliver on Friday, they would deliver on Saturday before noon. She said it was a special exception as they don't deliver on Saturdays.

I am not sure what the delivery agreements are with the carriers, it would be nice if they did deliver to those who are not available on Friday. My brother is going to be at my house to sign for it.

Mine is coming FedEx,my neighbor ordered two a couple hours apart, one is coming FedEx the other UPS.

Mine just moved from Ontario, CA to Mira Loma, CA. Should be in Portland by tonight and delivered tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

Interesting. Mine is bound for Portland too but it's stuck in Ont.

I'd say not to worry then, they'll probably overnight it to you. Did the status page on Apple's store say delivery on the 16th? If it does, and they fail to do so, I'd call them and complain. Who knows, they might throw a free smart cover your way for the inconvenience.

everyone seems to have activity and mine has been sitting in Louisville, KY since Sunday without moving.

It goes through Border Patrol in Alaska. I'm also not sure how it works if the entire plane is iPads coming from Foxconn and it goes through Border Patrol. I imagine the security routine is different for those than the normal traffic of individual packages from scattered locations in Asia.

As someone else said, the Customs stamp is just where the paper was passed.

Well that's a little more reassuring. I was at first left with the impression that some foriegn power could sneak anything into the US and have it make its way to a major city without any sort of inspection beforehand. But if indeed there are checks made when arriving at the 1st port of entry than that's OK.

Everyone's iPad is moving now, while mine is still preparing for shipment.
Order was placed one hour after the keynote. Freaking out now.

Yikes! Did you ever call Apple?

Mine left Alaska & that is the last thing I know - I'm in South - So it should be moving. I'm not letting myself check the page anymore. lol
