No, but it used to bother me to use my iPad 2 after using my phone. It was like my eyes couldn't focus at first.
But the 4 has more pixel density.

That is the exact same adjective I was looking for. At first the iPhone 4's retina display would put the iPad to shame but now the roles have reversed.
I find they both look great. I always hated going from my beautiful iPhone 4 screen to the huge pixels on the iPad 2, finally I have 2 devices, both with beautiful high res screens.
