That is the unit I mentioned. It is beautiful, especially considering it looks like it belongs with the MacBook. But being backed up until the fall, I had to go a different route for now. Best Buy sells an Insignia branded USB-C to USB adapter very similar to Apples offering for $14.99. I purchased one today, and it's doing the job.

they can't get it to work. official email received today for full refund for all backers. sad though

Shame to hear. It's such a beautiful concept, I would have loved it.

Side note: A few months into my rMB and I have not missed the ports. I do on occasion use my adapter (for my USB stick) but it is only when I need to save some school work, which isn't often because I used my schools cloud service 95% of the time. My iPhone only gets plugged in when restoring or jailbreaking.

So all-in-all the missing ports have not been missed. Battery life has been great and everyone is amazed how light and small this thing is. It performs beautifully and hasn't lost a beat.

If you were in the market for a new laptop, and liked the rMB, would you go ahead and get it now or just wait for Skylake? I'm not one who needs the latest and greatest, but I understand that this is a first gen laptop and improvements could happen. Sounds like it's working really well for you!

If you don't NEED it right now, I say wait. I am willing to bet that by very early 2016 we will see the 2nd generation.
