The New White Iphone

hi im new to these forums and was just wondering something about the new white iphone 4

i have bought one from the bay and its locked to the uk network 3
im pretty sure it is on pay as you go but not certain

I am on vodafone at the moment and from what i read there is no unlock for the white iphone as of yet

is there anyone in the uk that can tell me the baseband for the white one

and also is there an unlock on its way ?

i am going to try the vodafone thing on this forum for an unlock seeing as i have been a customer for 2 years they might put it through (highly doubt it) but worth a try

if not i might give 3 a phone and see what they can do for me

any help is appreciated

I wouldn't know the answer but to get a answer from someone wiser you might want to tell us what firmware and baseband you're on.

I'm pretty sure they ship with 4.3.1 right now and it the baseband will be whatever comes with that iOS version. There is no software unlock as of yet but if you sweettalk the carrier, maybe you can get a free unlock.

I've heard that some carriers will unlock the phone for $15 in the UK no matter what. I don't know, go try a few different reps and see what happens.
