Yeah, I've been trying to get everything while at the same time limiting any guides or anything. I beat the 4 Devine beasts and I think I got around 70 ish shrines before I started looking at maps that showed shrine locations on the map, but not necessarily how to get them. Originally wanted to get all 120 before going to Gannon, but then 2 weeks ago my son starts yelling and calling me to come and he's facing Gannon and then beats him, so I had to stick around and celebrate with him and watch the ending.
 
I'm not too far into the game, but the unique thing I enjoy about this game is just looking around and exploring. I'm in no rush to finish the game, in fact, i think subconsciously I want to drag it out as long as possible! 😀

Now, actual hardware - Switch screen scratches from the dock and warping.

I hope that Nintendo not only learns from this, but Microsoft (for the Scorpio launch) and Sony (for the PS5) as well...

You put your hard earned cash into paying full price for a console at launch with only a game or two to play and get you end up with this... 😡

(Tim Cook is probably smiling right now reading about this as he's holding the next version of the iPad Mini... 😱 )

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is going to be such a massive release.

I'm ok with a Zelda+MK8 machine (and Indies) for a while
 
Hey! My Switch is very lightly warped on the right side. Its only very slight and I'm not worried but if it means I get a replacement then 🙂

Just picked up Lego City today - it's great! Love how simple it is but with loads of adult references.

Might end up with worse issues like one that doesn't work, or hot pixels in the dead center of the screen
 
Isn't this the first nintendo system to not a get a brand new mario kart in a long time? Its really just a suped-up version of the wii u one right? If so, any chance on someday getting a MK9 for the switch or will DLC offer what the new versions usually offer?

I think mk9 definitely a possibility

I'm looking forward to wind waker re re mastered or just remastered ported. You know it'll happen.

Never got to play that one

Nor majoras mask 🙁

I'll be interested in your opinion of Lego City, and the load times.

I was thinking, the load times in Zelda are kinda long, but you don't notice it because of the Tips screen. If more games did something like that, or maybe better yet, a Pong, Breakout, or other kind of game to occupy you while it loaded, nobody would really care. Just having a progress bar is pure lazy...

The problem with these remaster ports is that they never update the movement translation or the physics engine. It's usually a case of hero model replacement and texture upresing. If I had a Switch and I was used to BotW, as I would say 85 - 90% of Switch owners are, I would have difficult time going to back to WW or TP, especially the latter as the controls are wonky as can be. I did playthroughs of both in the past year and it was very difficult to tolerate even without BotW's good example.

interesting and ... disappointing

I always felt TP on wii was tough. But oddly don't feel the same about botw with wireless joycons

Hand held or Pro is my go to tho

I just like wireless joycons laying down with my dog cuddled up sometimes

I haven't noticed any unusual load times, it takes around 30 seconds to load into the game from its main menu but that seems to be it so far.

It's nothing like in those pics on Reddit, I spotted it by looking down the top (and bottom) of the system whilst pointing it towards a bright window. There's a kink near the game card slot only. The bottom is fine.

Mario Kart titles don't appear right away, I think the specific situation with the Switch is how unsuccessful its predecessor was so I'm expecting most (if not all) big Wii U exclusives get ported over. Mario Kart 9 will no doubt happen in a couple of years. Though I wouldn't be at all upset if it's just a huge 8-cup DLC add on for MK8. Like Zelda I think Nintendo are going to find it very difficult to top these games.

From what I remember Mario Kart 8 had an unprecedented attach ratio of 3:1 (so 1/3rd of all Wii U owners had that game), but even then the console didn't sell that well.
[doublepost=1491640489][/doublepost]Cave Story is coming to Switch in June! I dunno about getting it. I already own it on 3DS and its really subtle 3D was gorgeous. The Switch version will be £25 and have a load of new features, but I'm unsure about (at this stage) quad-dipping.

@Dagless are you playing docked or undocked for Lego City. I only got to play undocked at GameStop and i wasn't impressed with the frame rate (seems to hover around 20fps with noticeable drops at points). Wondering if it performs better docked ?

Also are you playing physical cart or downloaded ? I have heard that digital version on Fast microSD is faster at loading than the physical cart version.

I've only played docked so far, I'm out today with Switch in hand so I'll give undocked a go later 🙂 it looks and plays gorgeous docked to the point that I don't know how they pulled this off.

I bought it on the eShop. I'm planning on going 100% download on this one 🙂 well, with Zelda as my only cart game. Might as well use that slot!

Edit: really really tempted to buy some US eShop cards and get Binding of Isaac. Never really liked it before but hoping to get into it. Just like the idea of nice and simple games with LOTS to uncover in them.

SKYLANDERS !! Just received an update and both docked and undocked modes recurve resolution boost and extra hours affects. YAY!!!
