The idea of a glass trackpad isnt to put the dock there, that would be a nightmare. The idea is to make it programable. So, for example, when you launch photoshop it configures itself with shortcuts and gesture controls specifically for that app. Likewise with itunes, imovie etc.

It adds flexibility and could be valuable to both pros and consumers. It isnt ment to just be a second, tiny screen.
 
people give it up. there might be a glass trackpad but i think its only for the purpose of wear and tear. there will be NO mini screen in the computer. battery life? it breaks? no room for it in there? ( they are thin enough) NOT practical. by the time you move to the icon you could have clicked with the cursor. whats the point of the screen when you have one 10 times the size 15 inches away?
 
yeah, im assuming that the glass trackpad will be for the wear and tear aspect...and its a lot easier to clean when it does get dirty...

now im wondering if theyll offer those anti-glare screen protectors...i love those because they dont show finger smudges...
