Depends how much you want to store locally. Sure, you can put everything in the cloud but what happens if your internet connection fails you, if you find yourself locked out of the cloud, or otherwise unable to access it?

iCloud isn't really a solid backup solution either as it's more a 'syncing' service than anything else. Therefore you might want to store your most important stuff like photo and music libraries, so you can get a local backup. These can easily take up almost 250 GB if you're an avid music listener or take a lot of photos.

Why wouldn't you trust iCloud to store your stuff?

I have a Pixel so I use Dropbox for backup (plus for its convenience for shared drives in my PhD research). Recently discovered that they have a "cloud only" setting for files, which I've applied to photos and other large media that I don't check often -- don't think I'll ever need SSD upgraded again.

Just placed my order!

Fully decked out Silver with 3 years of Apple Care+.

Have to take what I can get to keep within the Ecosystem.

My main daily driver is a 2018 12.9 IPP since it was the last device (Not including IP 11 and SE) without PWM.

This I know sounds like a broken record to most. However, it’s REALLY hard to find anything without PWM these days.

Especially phones…. regardless of platform. 😡

Im painfully aware this device has thermal constraints, but that better that not being able to use a device at all.

Apple is expensive. Nothing new.

Personally, I think it's peerless for what it is. There's plenty of good stuff, just not as good, all things being equal.

You get what you pay for, always. And these are never seriously discounted. Why? Take a guess.

honestly apple and samsung should give us dc dimming .idc about color accuracy when im reading ,working on pdf, taking notes, surfing ,seriously . xiaomi and other oems give dc dimming option, but high end oems like samsung and apple always refused to do so

*A very good, but too expensive (Insert Apple product name here). They can just reuse this same headline for every Apple product.

I agree for almost every Apple product except the M1 Air. Even with whatever little flaws that machine had, it is truly worth every single penny considering the quality of what you're receiving. Absolutely cracking deal then and still now.

If it holds my data, the performance doesn’t stutter, and the battery last longer than me, I’m good. My m1 air did that much better than the intel version. I expect the m2 to be better.
