Help!

I am trying to backup my Aperture Library file to my external hard drive which is formatted to HFS. However, during the middle of the transfer it would display a message saying:

"The Operation cannot be completed because the item "Aperture Library" is in use."

The thing is, it's not in use. I tried a fresh restart then transfer this without any programs running.

I am currently running the latest Leopard update.

What is wrong? Please help!

Try disk utility to verify/repair permissions etc, on both your local and external drives.

In Aperture, perform a library check (not sure how exactly, perhaps hold down cmd/alt/both at startup like iPhoto?)

Perhaps TimeMachine was backing up the file at the time?

Hmmm....
