Finally there's a Nov. 12 release date for the Giant Squid/Annapurna Interactive new game called The Pathless. It's also a launch title for PS5 and will also be released on PS4 and PC (Epic GS).

Giant Squid you may know as the developer of ABZÛ, and is headed by Matt Nava who also worked on thatgamecompany's Journey. The Pathless soundtrack is by Austin Wintory who also composed the Journey ST.

I've been waiting for this one since it was announced and am so happy we've got a solid release date. Hooray.

Finally The Pathless is released on Arcade. I've played a couple hours so far with a DS4 controller on my iPad Pro, and love it. I was hoping to play on my Apple TV HD, but so far it's only compatible with the 4K.

I played it a bit on my iPad. It’s a bit difficult to control without a game controller, or maybe I’m just bad at video games. I got the free 3 months of Apple Arcade with my iPhone, so I am trying to find some good games. I played Beyond a Steel Sky which I liked, having been a fan of the old Beneath a Steel Sky.

I haven't tried The Pathless with touch controls. I can understand actions like running, shooting and flying might be trickier without a controller. I'll say with a controller, it's so much fun. The scenery is gorgeous and the puzzles are pretty tricky. I've probably played about 25 hours so far, and it took a while to understand the different domains--but then I ran by the map in the first area, and refound it, and now things make a bit more sense.

And the music by Austin Wintory (Journey, Banner Saga) is gorgeous!

The map?
As far as I know the game does not have any maps? 🧐
