Holy crap it is huge.

It makes it so difficult to find a good slot to plug into an outlet.

How do u guys manage?

i took advantage of the extension cord today when i was in my living room. it allowed me to lounge out on my big comfy couch and watch tv without having to be stuck in a corner sitting inna chair. thats how i managed 😛

Silly Question

I have a serious, yet silly, over paranoid question. Is using a normal extension cord potentially harmful: 1. with the adapter by itself 2. with the apple extension cord

With just the adapter it should be fine, however with the apple extension cord you would need a "cheater" plug adapter because your average extension cord lacks a grounding pin for the apple extension cord. While not necessarily dangerous, I probably wouldn't recommend it.

...don't use a ground lift with your apple extension cord, that plug has a ground for the length and thickness of the wire apple uses...

This is how I connect my power adapter using a standard "figure 8" general purpose power cord.

why don't you just use the one included with your mac?? :s
The power brick came with a flat pin connector that plugs in where I have the "figure 8" cable connector plugged in. This way it makes it from the wall outlet to my spot in the living room without power extenders.
