Hello,
I'd like to install Mac OSX on my G3 PowerMac, but the PowerMac will not boot from the CD. What I can do now? What is the problem?
Thanks

Well, first off would be to make sure you're trying to install a version of OSX that's compatible with the G3; what version of OSX and which G3--blue and white or beige?

Also, does the disc mount when the G3 is already on? If not, then it's not reading in the drive (either an install DVD in a CD drive, or the drive is funky).

I'll install the OS10.0. But it doesn't work.
I don't now why! Before 3 month it works, but not now.
Thanks

I understand installing Cheetah (10.0) on a G3 for fun, but not really recommended for anything other than nostalgia.
But, it is a real CD (i.e. not a copied one)? CD-R's tend to live far shorter lives than real Retail CD-ROMs.

But, like Makosuke said, does it mount at all (like when you're booted from Mac OS 9)?
