Got my 1.3 rMB today and I totally love it. However, I can't help noticing that, like the iPad Air 2, its extraordinary thinness may come at the cost of a certain amount of structural consistency.

If you look straight down each edge of the iPad Air 2, you may well notice a slight curve to one or more of them. I've had three of them and they've all had it to some extent. It's no big deal and certainly not something you notice in every day use.

Anyway, it looks like the rMB might have a similar issue – or mine does, at least.

1. With the rMB closed, squeezing the base and lid together on the left and right edges results in more movement on the right than the left. Ie, there's more 'bow/curve' to the lid on the right hand side.

2. Because of this, when holding the closed rMB up edgeways with a light source behind it, and looking down the left and right edges from front to back at a fairly flat angle, a lot more light can be seen coming through the gap between the lid and base on the right than on the left.

The front edge is completely 'sealed', as you'd expect, given how noticeable it would be if it wasn't.

Mildly bothersome for the more OCD rMB owner, but certainly not a return issue or anything.

Can anyone relate?

Of all the things that may bother someone about the thinness, I wouldn't think this would be one of them lol.

I fixed it for you.

Er, no - I fixed it for myself.

Doesn't particularly bother me. Just discussing, really. But if a slightly curved lid wouldn't be the most bothersome consequence of thinness, I'm not sure what would.

Indeed. The curvature makes me want to wash my hands of the whole business, repeatedly.

Wanting to wash your hand of the whole business and actually washing your hands of the whole business are not the same thing. The whole compulsive part means actually doing something, not wanting to do something.

Additionally once you washed your hands of the whole business I'm not sure how you would do it repeatedly since you would have already washed your hands of the whole business.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Lol! Oh, Brand, you've done it again...

I think you might be better off avoiding threads containing any hint of irony or mild sarcasm altogether.

Yes I can see that in this forum, without a doubt.

Heh. Just to be very clear, I'm not bringing this up to encourage such behaviour, but there is, without doubt, more of a curve to one side of my rMB lid/display than the other – it doesn't 'connect' with the body/base as tightly.

I also just went to the Apple Store to buy a USB-C adaptor and discovered that all six of their display models have the same thing, to some extent.

I don't particularly care, I'm just sayin'.

Honestly. ;)

"I'm just sayin" too. Not pointing my figure at anyone but there are some who DO fall outside the "normal", what ever that is:)

Ya, I think you might be. OCD doesn't mean always being compulsive about everything one is obsessing about. Sometimes it's obsessive thoughts. Sometimes it's compulsive behavior. Sometimes it's both.

Sometimes it's over obsessing about the edges of your iPad. Sometimes it's compulsively correcting everyone's posts on Macrumors.

Id rather have thin with minor imperfections. Than thick and crappy without them.
