The sound quality of the Pro has set a new standard in tablets. Nice low/bass full sounding in the voices like no other tablet I have ever heard. The sound separation and clarity is amazing and it's thin size seems like some real advancements has been made in audio quality. Totally immersive experience beyond any tablet I have ever seen. After one hour of Hulu watching on the Pro has made my Air 2 look and sound like a phone. Video quality and definition looks like watching my 4K HD tv. Even my wife that owns her own Air 2 was taken back with its performance while watching a episode of Elementary on Hulu.
The Pro is a game changer. If your a 4K HD tv guy, the Pro is for you.

IMO, 10hr battery should be good enough for one day normal use.

Better audio worth more than have extra 2 hours battery which most user may never need (assuming the user fully charge the iPad pro every overnight).

OP, agreed...I was blown away by the display, and then I turned up the volume. :D

The Pro is a keeper.

But, but Macrumors said they could have sacrificed sound quality for a bigger battery. :p
really? i think you may understanded it in the wrong way....
apple actually (or not?) has sacraficed battery life for better sound quality. if you look at the teardown (or some apple ad), you'll notice they gave each speaker a 'chamber' to improve sound quality. with those space filled with battery, we may see a up to 50% increase of battery life, or, >50% of performance improvement.

I agree. I really hope the Air 3 adds stereo speakers and kicks the screen up a notch.

I ain't going to lie the iPad pro has the best sounding speakers I've ever heard in any tablet or laptop. Now I understand why Apple senior reps kept praising it in interviews. It really is that good and I don't know how it's possible in such a thin package.

If that were the case, the Macbook Air would have never sold as well as it does. Many people choose the MBA over other Macbooks for the much longer battery life despite the downright awful screen that it has.

Better audio is not worth more than 2 extra hours of battery to most of the people.

You'll also see a huge increase in weight, which I don't think many people would want (I wouldn't). Remember that battery is one of the heaviest components of the device. Fill that space with battery and you'll be looking at a device as heavy as or heavier than the SP4 which still runs iOS.

The MacBook Air screen isn't awful. Just because it isn't the latest and greatest doesn't mean it isn't good.

considering you wont hold it with your hands as much as you do on other ipads, it mostly sits on a surface, adding even half a pound of weight isnt that a big deal as you thought.... think about the 'ultra portable' mighty 12 inch macbook, everyone's saying how thin, light and portable it is, but its 2.03 pounds. so even with extra battery, ipad pro will still be lighter than it, plus better performance, bigger screen, longer battery life.

you can't just consider the NMB's battery life as it is, remember it charges from almost any usb portable batteries... people can easily carry a 3000/6000 mah USB battery and get a extra 4-8 hours of battery life...
non of the other macbooks can do that.

I heard this crackling sound when I was playing Hearthstone. I was thinking to myself what is that? Looked around the room and back at the iPad Pro. It was the sound of a crackling BBQ fire on the bottom left of the screen, LOL. Great sound and seperation. I literally never that sound before using my 2 speaker setup.

BTW

Apparently, the Pro has USB 3.0 lighting cable speeds. Apple confirmed this a few hours ago. (just read it on Engadget)

curious

AFAIK, also only the cable come with iPad pro works with USB 3.0 speed. So, don't mix it up with other cables.

USB3 support is currently unavailable. The cable is the same as all past lightning cables - it doesn't support USB3. If you read closer, you'll see that the 'port supports USB3' and 'requires a new cable' that isn't available yet.

Nothing to do with the cable.

Actually, USB3 requires a new cable.

Arstechnica said:
The Lightning cable that ships with the iPad Pro is a standard USB 2.0-speed cable, and you'll need to purchase USB 3.0 cables separately when they're released at some undisclosed point in the future. The cables may be physically different from the current USB 2.0 models, which don't appear to have enough pins to support the USB 3.0 specification.

Gotta totally agree, watched Mission Impossible rogue nation on it last night and the sound is amazing. Much better than previous iPads or even my MacBooks.

Really? WFT

I think I already have :D

(they all look alike)

Are you sure about this?

Not official, but some users claim that they get different speed in their own test with the iPad pro cable and "normal lightning" cables. So, better not to mix them up at this moment.
