Does GMA 950 support videotoolbox hwdec of h264? Either way best performance you could likely get is mpv with all scalers disabled + opengl-pbo + yt-dlp with formats set to h264 only. I don't think current versions of mpv build that far back, you'll have to find a older version and update the streaming hook script to support newer yt-dlp

Nope! ZERO hwaccel, it’s like a voodoo 5 in a laptop. Yes H.264 with a dedicated vid player will be perfectly fine for even HD, but for a web browser to stream the actual site it is very touchy

@TheShortTimer who needs a space heater when you have a MacBook 2,1 that’s playing YouTube, and the legacy layout extension is broken 🤣

I feel like someone who works for google reads these forums, because today the legacy YouTube extension broke and I had to disable it. Performance for SD video has been ok 🤣

It breaks every so often, I found updating it got it to work once, I haven't used it in a while though.

Really tho, it was something special I figured out for PPCMC7. What YouTube application does anything from 2024?? There’s ways to make things as future proof as possible, but when your doing that against google you have a trillion dollar company vs peasants

If you want to make your room warmer get a few Power Mac G5's and put them next to the cold area. I can lend a couple Pentium 4 PCs, as well as a 2011 13-inch lap warmer pro MacBook Pro for your lap.

I think if I buy one G5 and have it convert a 4k blu ray rip of titanic to mp4 x264 1080p it would do more then all of those 🤣
