Nope, we got the market cornered on that right around here in central NYS and PA. Flash flood warnings, flood warnings, downpour warnings... getcher rain here if you're short. Bring your own containers... how does an inch in 20 minutes sound? Nice? Repeat an hour later? 'Nuf said.

Think I'll have to pump my cellar out tomorrow. Everything's downhill from here to the sea as they say around here, even if water does have to run under 448 bridges first just to depart the county.

Right above me is a long forested ridge that tops out about 400' higher than here. The deer won't have to come down out of the woods and cross the road down to the creek tonight, that's for sure. They're probably in standing water up there for the moment. And gravity, I am not all that pleased to report, seems still plenty functional this evening.

What we need to do is trade microclimates with southern California somehow for a couple days. We have more of this stuff coming the rest of the week... and they have wildfires raging again.

Yes trade.

Here is cornwall UK it so hot and dry!
regular 25 to 30 degree Celsius.

Some parts of UK hotter still.

We've had some weird afternoon storms here in Denver as well. Many have caused flooding in some areas. Yesterday, a women was found in her flooded basement. It's believed that she drowned in all the water that flooded her house from the storm on Tuesday.

In Dorset, UK we haven’t had a drop since mid June, temps sitting at between 28 and 31 daily (occasional overcast day at about 25) when summer average is more like 22! Due heavy thunderstorms tomorrow though

We’ve had nice rainfall here in the TC, but that hasn’t stopped me from draining the Mississippi in the yard. Waiting for the bill. :(

A large swath of Bordeaux wishes a few May storms passed them by to be sure.

My brother lives in the DC area where they got 7” of rain. With climate change, when it rains, it pours, or doesn’t rain at all.

117º yesterday in Phoenix, AZ.

104º will be the high today. Cooling down due to expected rain.

June, July and August are Monsoon season. About 30 minutes of of high wind (over 70mph) dust storms where anything not nailed down you can kiss goodbye. Then torrential downpour for about 15 minutes (1" to 3" or more within that time), horizontal rain (yes, there is such a thing) tapering off to just a regular downpour.

Hopefully you don't live rural when this happens because flashfloods and washed out roads are all too common when the monsoon comes through.

Oh yeah. It's not just once either. It's a season. It can happen more than once, anytime during these three months.

Yes, I know about horizontal rain. And monsoon rain (you get monsoon season in the US?)

Anyway, I've experienced both, but not in Europe, and not in the US.

Yes, we get monsoons here. Never really knew about them until we moved to Phoenix though. August is the hottest month of the year (certainly the month I pay the MOST to the electric company for air conditioning) so the monsoons are actually welcome then because it cools stuff off.
