Look, once the people around you start complaining about the noise, the keyboard is too loud.

Nobody around me has yet to complain, so....

When other people are stating that they're seeing substantially different results than you're seeing, perhaps the trouble lies between your keyboard and your chair?

I don't think anyone would dispute you saying that you find it too loud for you and how you type. When you instead claim the same is true for everyone else in the world, that's when the people who have a different experience will step up to poke holes in your claim.

Look, once the people around you start complaining about the noise, the keyboard is too loud. You can sugarcoat it as much as you like. This being an Apple product, your next argument is likely that I'm probably just holding it wrong.

You had one person complain about the noise and that person was doing a test while sitting next to you, so she would probably have considered any noise louder than breathing to be loud. You can't draw a conclusion from that and start telling everybody it's insanely loud, especially because the noise is directly related to how hard you bang the keys.

In my experience the keyboard in MB isn't any louder than the one in MBA I had before, and anything is quieter than the mechanical keyboard on my desktop.

Please send me your video in which you demonstrate how to type silently on that thing. Thank you.
Maybe adjust your typing style or don't buy the rMB. Keyboard bangers hate it, touch/soft typists enjoy it. You're welcome.

Yep. Mostly every MB keyboard haters make grandiose generalizations that the keyboard is horrible because when they smash the keys it hurts and makes a lot of noise, and then when called out on their generalizations, get defensive and attack anyone who disagrees. It is my favorite keyboard of all the MB I've had. Everyone can agree it's non-standard and has less travel, but that does not mean it is a bad keyboard. It only means the keyboard bangers should look elsewhere.

this keyboard isn't even remotely loud as far as keyboards go. there is just less tolerance for poor typing form due to the fact there is very little dampening between the keys and the chassis.

If anything, Magic Keyboard 2 feels louder to me and harder to type on with its flat keys with more travel.
