I like the Logitechs because of the software. The M$ mice are ok, but I seem to wear out the wheel too quickly. I had a Kensington, but had issues with the software and the wheel was either too fast or too slow no matter what I tried to do.

I don't think the software matters that much, personally. Steermouse and USB Overdrive are both better solutions than Logitech and Kensington's bundled software, although neither are free (they are both shareware).

Can I refine the question?

What is the best LEFT-HANDED mouse in the world?

Well I consider my ambidextrous mouse the best, regardless of handed-ness. The MS Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1a. Lightweight, affordable, and its wired. Not ridiculously tall (IE4 or 5), easy middle-click wheel, oh and did I already mention lightweight?

Logitech MX900 Laser Mouse.

BT, 2 AA batteries, recharged via cradle, lasts forever. No silly 'gaming' bits like weight adders, etc. Now hard to find but worth looking for.

You could try the Radtech BT600. This will probably be the next mouse i get because it charges over USB. This is a good thing cause it means not having to carry around a base station and you can still use the mouse while it charges.

I have had the RadTech BT600 for about 3 months now. Here is my review:

Pros:
1) Very accurate
2) Charges quickly
3) Good customer service (see below)

Cons:
1) Not an exact match with my iMac
2) The power button on the top is an odd place
3) Takes a while to wake up after iMac sleeps (this may be normal for all BT mice)

I had a problem with my BT600 about 45 days in. I went the item website and followed all the troubleshooting ideas without luck. So I emailed customer support. After 2-3 emails discussing the problem and some solutions, RadTech overnighted me a new mouse with return postage for my current mouse for FREE. I was very impressed.

I have one of those, had it since my first Mac in 2003 :D

The Logitech MX1000 is my fav right now, I wish I had bought the bluetooth version (didn't even know it existed until a friend of mine showed it to me).
