I do like the white, but I don't know if I like the stainless (or whatever it is) sides. Seems like it might get scratched up pretty easily and that'd drive me nuts!

The space gray, however, has the darker sides so I think that may be my choice. I was really leaning towards a white phone, since it has the black front it does look great! I haven't had a white iPhone since like the 3gs though

Now I'm on the fence again after typing this hahaha.

I have seen that before actually with people using it on their SS Apple Watches. Hmmm... man I wish the Apple stores would let you see the phones in person before they release!

As it's Stainless Steel (like the Apple Watch) you will be able to buff out any scratches with a Cape Cod cloth. With the "coated" Stainless Steel, you won't be able to.

Like others mentioned, I really like the fact the front is black on the silver X.

Checked out the iPhone 8 today. In person the back of the silver model is the faintest shade of silver. In pictures it still looks white.

As others have mentioned, the silver X having an all black front has me really leaning towards it for my next iPhone upgrade.

I've always purchased the black/grey colorways previously, I think now would be a good time for a change. The hard part though will be successfully getting an order placed for launch day delivery/pickup.

Like most here, I think it looks white. And that's a good thing, reminds me of the 4/4S. I think it might be because of the overtly silver metal band around the edge, by contrast with that the back clearly looks white, but a lovely silvery, almost metallic white.

When I heard them say there was silver and grey I felt a bit unexcited but seeing these photos and realising they are more like white and matte black I think they both look great.

Just checked out at the 8 in store, and for the first time in a long time i’m not getting a black iPhone. The silver looks amazing, and I can only imagine how good it looks on the X. The black is almost like a smokey gray in person. I personally preferred the silver.
