Texas?

Grew up in Buffalo, NY...it's pop there. Soda everywhere I've lived (currently in the Bay Area).

Edit: Here's the official MR thread on what people call it.

Haha, nice try, I'm in central Kentucky (think horse farms, races, and green pastures, not barefeet and no teeth) if you say anything other than 'coke' its like you're from another country.

Damn...just when I was contemplating moving to Portland or Seattle I find out they call soda "POP". How lame...

:D

I'm late to the thread, but I'm reminded of a cool anecdote about my high school project of making moonshine Orbitz. I managed to ferment a clear alcohol in my closet, roughly 50% I think it was, then concocted gelatin and sugar globules that I made at neutral buoyancy to the alcohol. So then I had what looked like Orbitz, except a bit cloudier and with enough alcohol to blind you.

the stuff tasted terrible, but boy was I the coolest guy in town when I hauled it out at a party ;)

A friend of mine from Atlanta (where Coke's headquarters are) told me that whenever you ask for a Coke, they ask you "what kind?" He moves around a lot, so this was really strange to him. Apparently in Atlanta, they mean Sprite or Cherry Coke or Coke Zero or Vanilla Coke or Diet Coke or Coke with Lemon whenever they say "Coke".

It's pretty weird.

I drink:

Water - about 95% of the time.
Beer
Wine
Milkshakes
Juice.

The only time anything bubbly passes my lips it has to have some alcohol in it. I can't stand coke/pepsi any sort of cola. The most common fizzy drink I drink is Lemon, Lime and Bitters - often with some vodka in it.

I would have guessed somewhere near there. Being from Tennessee, I know all about things being called "Coke." When I went to school in MN, it was a bit of an adjustment, though fortunately for me I usually just drink water. Or booze. But there was even a facebook group named "It's all called water, b****es." I was their proudest member. :p
