Has anyone else notcied this, there are tons of little fixes that make this feel so much better to use.

speaker mode during phone calls - is that the one you're referring to as well?

(ugh I'm still deciding whether to get it or not)

agreed...

Noticed the speaker volume via the ipod player. It's good news all around.
Apple has done a real good job with 3G 2.0.

I'm really glad I sold the 3G and got this update. And the 32GB don't hurt either.

I use speakerphone a lot so I’m glad to hear it’s been fixed. I haven’t been able to break open the phone yet though because it’s charging and I had to go back to work -- :(

well yeah...

3G 2.0? .... really?

That's my take on it. You had the 2g. Then you had the 3g.

This iPhone has many of the same parts, some internals improved obviously. But it's not only the software that makes it better either. If that was the case, the 3G and 3GS would be closer.

As you can tell from folks, there's an overall feeling of improvement across the board beyond the itemized refinements.

So I called it 3G 2.0 for those reasons.

If this is true, I will upgrade. This was the only issue I wanted to know was *really* addressed in the 3G S because IMHO it wasn't in the 3G.

Thank you, Apple! I was really HOPING they upgrade the speakerphone again! It was decent on the 3G and horrible on the first gen.

It has almost all internals improved. You can harp all you want on how the case is the same, but that's really where the similarity ends. I have a new 3GS in my hand and it's really a whole new experience.

ive noticed the speaker is really loud but i think that might be because the 3g got worn or clogged over time?

Any difference in the silent (vibrate) function? A little bit stronger wouldn't hurt since it's fairly weak IMO. I can't even tell when I get a message/call unless I put my phone on a table or something.

Looking for someone to comment on the op amps or something improved on the iPod. On my ultimate ear triple fi, the sound seems improved.

It's like they added a DAC or some improvement there as well. Probably would not be as noticed via the standard ear bleeder plugs. Man I hated those buds.

Also got custom ear fit attachments and it seems to me like another solid improvement.

I can deal with these discoveries. Looking for someone's technical detail.

I have meter for measuring audio levels, so it might be possible for me to prove or debunk this.

speakerphone is clearly louder on mine. it almost seems as if i'm being yelled at. and, this is jusy IMO, but playing music via speaker, i need to turn it way down, compared to before, or i feel like i'll go deaf. though, both instances it's a good loud, a clear loudness. not a distorted sound

Had to turn volume to 50%, I kept jumping when I get a text it's so loud. Always had it on max with my 2g.

That's how I was too! And at full volume (like I had to keep it on my 3G) the 3G S text tone (tri tone) sounds distorted because it's so loud!

I like being able to keep my volume in the middle and actually being able to adjust accordingly instead of being stuck at max or just going softer.
