It's a 3G im Upgrading from. It is alot louder and the vibrate is stronger too in my opinion.

I just made my first phone call and the ear speaker was crackling. Didn't sound good at all, I had to turn the volume down a lot. I didn't even have my ear against the phone. Is everyone's like this?

was dissapointed that the speakerphone was the same. However my girl called and it SCARED THE S*** OUT OF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY A NICE! YES!

I could tell right off the bat that the S was louder than my 3G. The clicks and slide were louder. The ringer is also a lot louder. This was one of my biggest complaints with the 3G.

The regular speaker crackles too. This is terrible IMO.

Ok good, it's not just me. My 3gs speaker almost sounds like it's blown sometimes. Some frequencies of sound are worse sounding than others. :(

That's my take on it. You had the 2g. Then you had the 3g.

This iPhone has many of the same parts, some internals improved obviously. But it's not only the software that makes it better either. If that was the case, the 3G and 3GS would be closer.

As you can tell from folks, there's an overall feeling of improvement across the board beyond the itemized refinements.

So I called it 3G 2.0 for those reasons.
Its more like iPhone 2g. Then iPhone 2g 2.0 if you want to measure it by the hardware. The only hardware that really changed from 2g to 3g was the 3g receiver.
