how come PixelSkin HD is so popular here but got so low rating from review (3 stars)?
The PixelSkin HD retails for $30, and at this price we’d suggest that you look elsewhere. However, as part of Apple’s free iPhone 4 Case Program the PixelSkin HD isn’t a bad option – although it’s not the best case in the program, either. Overall, we give the PixelSkin HD three stars
but the Griffin Outfit Ice case got high rating (4.5 stars) but not so popular here?

is it because PixelSkin HD is available free from apple program?

got my free pixelskin hd a yesterday. GREAT CASE!!!!! all buttons are easy to press. this case feels so good in my hand. i want to put my wiener on it all day every day.

Just got my Power Support Anti-Glare and my Stealth guards protector for the back. They go into the new revised pixelskin HD (revision 3?) without any bubbling at all.

The solution to the bubbles is to buy the zagg screen protector that is made to fit with cases. But really you guys should have researched this case a little. Numerous places explain how it does not play nice with screen protectors.

zagg isn't made for protectors. Mine sucked ass with every case.
My SGP oleophobic is cut perfectly and doesn't get messed up with any case Ive tried.

mine arrived today - not that impressed. candyshell is miles better, if a little bulkier.

the buttons seemed fine, but the loose edges would drive me mad and the flappy bottom wasn't great.

the stealth guard bubbles on mine in the front.. But i think thats because the bumper had ruined it to begin with.. Gonna order a new one here in a minute

Got my revised case from Speck yesterday -- in blue, as they were out of the black. The model number is the same as the old, bad version (don't have it in front of me), but the buttons are definitely easier to press. The material is still quite stiff, but I reminded myself that it's not supposed to be flimsy like a silicon case.

It did, however, bubble up my Best Skin ever...and I wasn't that thrilled with the color — it's aqua and not that masculine. I'll keep it as a backup, but for now I'm fine with my gun-metal LuxeLean.

Got my free case from apple today. It is the revised version of the revised. I was expecting it to feel harder then it is but nevertheless, it is still a very good case. Debating if I should continue with my Speck Fitted case or this.

Irony -- I like the "defective" version better

I received my replacement today. Inside is stamped SPPHD52(1).

It's a softer material, almost silcone-esque, but doesn't stick to your pocket like silicone. All buttons are easy to press w/ good feedback; i.e., you have a sense you are actually pressing the button. I also like that the back is a touch more matte and the "pixels" are not as raised than the harder plastic version. Another plus is that the mold lines on the new version are practically non-existent.

However the softer material doesn't seem as protective as the harder plastic version. The sides have more give and the area surrounding the upper portion of the speaker is extremely flimsy. To me the harder version feels better too. Yes, it's a PITA to remove but I don't remove my case too often. More like hardly ever. And the iLuv and Speck screen protectors I use work fine w/ the harder case -- no bubbling or peeling.

I previously modified my "defective" hard plastic case by removing the lower volume button. This gave the top vol. button some flex so that I can easily press both volume buttons. The top sleep button has no response but does work. So weighing all the + and -'s I've decided to keep using the hard plastic case.

I think Speck did a fantastic job replacing these and they have really earned my respect and loyalty. I wish all companies were this responsive to their errors.

sooo i totally haven't paid for any of this, awesome customer service ftw!

Got the revised one, with screen guards. Awesome cust service. That being said after a few weeks with the harder case I have gotten the hard to press home button to press easily although with no tactile response. I like the hard one alot better than the revised one at this point. The revise one is too soft and sticky, and the bottom lip sags like my grandmas titties.

i received mine today, i now have the pixelskin hd, black candyshell, speck fitted black tartan, griffin reveal, griffin reveal etch, black apple bumper, and a casemate leather holster/case. i like the bumper with the sgp black leather skin for the back combo the best but the pixelskin hd is a close second.

I'm trying to decide between the PixelSkinHD or the Incase Snap , but leaning towards the Speck.

Does anyone know how if this case traps dust underneath? I had a huge problem with my Griffin Wave for my 3G that trapped dust and that dust scratched the hell out of my 3G. I just don't want the PixelSkinHD to do that.

And should I be expecting the Revision 3 from Apple's Free Case Program? And Revision three has the oval cutout, softer material, and easier to press buttons right? The bad, revision 2, has oval cutout, but harder material and harder to press buttons?

Thanks.

Good to know, I bought the same protector from Apple store, but I have the Revision 2 - CMPHC(2) Should I be getting it replaced? I haven't even used it yet, but I bought it brand new - 35$

Just got all my replacements from Speck! How do the screen protectors compare to the PS anti-glare? I have the PS on right now, just curious.

I think I got that same case revision. The buttons seemed ok at first, but now for some reason I'm getting zero feedback when pressing the lock button. The volume buttons are fine though.

Might order another set of those free stealth guards in case I ever need to replace the back protector though. The Power Support HD anti-glare is looking great at the moment, although it makes me wonder what the crystal would look like.

I like the old revision better than the new one. It feels more protective

But the older revision supposedly have harder to press buttons?

Yeah don't listen to him. He's crazy, though his pictures do display the new case in relation to the previous revision. I got the new revision from Speck today and it's so much better than even my original rev. 1. Much less noticeable seams, bigger flash cutout, easy-to-press buttons, and just as protective. Not sure why he thinks the new one is less protective...

Anyway, Speck has my support 100%, and they got two replacements out to me in 2 days, both with free screen protectors.

Bravo, Speck, bravo.
