I just started to have this issue a couple of days ago. The haptic feedback on the trackpad works whenever it wants. Sometimes works and sometimes just doesn’t work at all, even though the trackpad itself works, fully charged. I’ve tried everything possible but still the same. Going to have to make a appointment at the Apple store. Just wondering if someone has any kind of issues like this, maybe related to something. Any feedback is appreciated.

These are adjustable and you'll find instructions on iFixIt. Easier than it looks — how easy depends on if it was originally glued (mine wasn't).

When it happened to me, it was in the middle of a project. I panicked and bought a Magic TrackPad II from the nearby Apple Store. Major improvement in too many ways to count — I had no idea. For starters, it recharges via a Lightening cable and you can work with the cable plugged in (!!!).
Anyway, I Googled and found how to adjust my eight year old MT I, fixed it and sold it on eBay for $50. A win-win in my book.

The OP doesn't say which version it is. If a Magic Trackpad II, then you're right.
If a 1st gen MT, this is a specific symptom that only affects these. As the bumper under the corner wears, the switch goes out of adjustment. Following the iFixIt instructions and turning the screw (about 1/4 turn on mine) did the trick.
Getting these apart is easy but must be done slowly so as not to break the clips—or they don't go back together. Only the early ones were also glued and Apple stopped that after awhile determining that it wasn't necessary. For that reason, the glue does not need to be renewed as the clips hold these together nicely.
I still recommend upgrading to the MT II unless running Yosemite or earlier. The Magic Trackpad II requires OS 10.11 El Capitán or laterto work properly.
It's a 2. Just tried unpairing and nothing. The haptic feedback it's gone, everything else it's fine as usual. I'm going to have to take it to the Apple store and see what they say. It could even be the computer the one having the problem maybe, so I'll try it there with another one on display.

This image isn't mine. On my Mac, Silent clicking is checked—haptic feedback works just fine (mine is set to Medium and Tap to click is off).
It does bring up a question. Does playing with the Click settings have an effect?

Hmmm, I can definitely feel a difference between light and firm on mine (with light being almost undetectable, especially if silent clicking is on), but now I think you have a bigger problem than that.
