Hehe what a great book.

i made tominator up because i needed a nickname for a laser tag game (laserforce) and because tominated was taken in one of the first forum i signed up to, i changed it to tominated. now everyone at school calls me tominator (if they can be bothered to)

Mine should be pretty easy to understand. The thesis for my masters degree in sociology was about the Macintosh culture (University of Bergen). This thesis took 2.5 years out of my life, and I did it in spite of Apple. I did ask them for help, but they just blew me off. (Well, I don´t love Apple. I just love the Macintosh and the community.)

From as long as i could remember i have been fasinated with ice and cubes. I think the name came from that. It just happend, and now i'm hooked.

Since I've had to change my username for precautionary privacy reasons...

'Boy' - er, it's my sex!

'Bach' - it's Welsh for, amongst other things, 'little'.

So 'Boy Bach' sort of means 'little boy' - it's a nickname that my brother and I use for each other.

Since I'm in law school, and Latin is quite big with our vocab, I liked Veritas&Equitas (normally spelled Veritas Et Aequitas) which translates in Latin as:

Truth & Justice.

(Veritas is also on the Harvard emblem, and the V&E phrase is the focus of the movie Boondock Saints, as the characters have them tattooed on each hand, if people have seen it elsewhere). Pretty much is what I strive for in my every day life; Truth and Justice ;)

well cwedl - It was my username from Secondary school to log onto the schools network, and it stuck, its the first letter of my first name followed by the first 4 letters of my surname

Try to follow the story. As it makes little sense.

I used to play Links golf on my old Performa. I needed to come up with a Player name. I write a lot, and one of my themes in my writing is about lines drawn in the dirt, akin to what we drive on, except that are lives don't follow paved highways, the follow meandering lines. I always imagined this likes out in the southwest desert on hot days with reddish dirt. That made me think for some, and I capitalize, OBSCURE REASON, of the French Open. Yes, the Tennis Grand Slam event. Which is the only one of the 4 Majors played on Clay. I believe the clay is reddish, or at least at the time I thought it was, someonce can tell me if that is wrong. The site of the French Open is Roland Garros. So Roland.g

I was initially iMacLover on the Apple forums, but I wanted a community more like this. I changed it to iMacZealot because I thought it was a cooler name, and I Love(d) every iMac-- is is (now was) my favorite mac, all designs. I've been thinking about changing it to either MacZealot or iZealot if they'd let me because the iMac isn't as appealing to me as it once was.

I teach the most unpopular subject in my discipline. My own research is in the area of Russian/French nationalism, and Kashchei is a Russian fairytale character that is deathless evil. To my students, I reckoned that I'm probably seen as deathless evil. This is how I chose my name.
