Since I got my current gear, I've been P.O. by 2 bugs. I have gone through all manouvers possible to make sure all is as well as possible softwarewise, but they still remain. The little bug is that the input language now and then (more often when my wife signs in on her "side") changes to US English, even if I've set Finnish as the ONLY language. When this happens, Finnish is still the second choice. The BIG bug is that frequently when putting the G5 to sleep - in any possible way it can be done - it freezes up with nothing else to be done than forced shutdown by holding the power button down for a few seconds. The latter has been an issue from 10.3.6 through to 10.3.8. I really, really hope it'll be fixed by 10.4. But I'd like to know for shure this is a software not hardware problem (hardware tests have never shown any problems, though). Anyone having the same problem(s)?

No sleep problems for me on my G5. Don't know about the language issue as it's primarily English for me.

Bugs that still bug me include the column view preview bug, where clicking on a .m2v file stalls the Finder and you can't do anything until the movie loads in preview. Once loaded, and it starts playing, resizing column widths causes erratic behavior.

how exactly does the g5 freeze? does it happen all the time?

on powerbooks there is a similar problem: the pb goes to sleep, but you can't wake it anymore. it does not respond to anything. it happens randomly once in a while. some people suggested to set the screensaver and the sleepmode at least 5 min apart. that helped in my case as well. i don't know about the g5 but it's probably worth a try.....

Mine is set to never go to sleep, displays in 15 minutes. What happens is after clicking on "go to sleep" or pressing the power button, the cursor disappears and that's it, freeze. Yesterday I didn't notice it happening, left it for a few hours, came back, forced shutdown, started again and then the fans went berserk as the freeze seemingly includes the fans not responding to CPU temperature, but NOT the temp freezing...

...and no it doesn't happen everytime, but it can happen anytime. I guess I'll try to set it to automatic and see if that is a way to avoid freeze.
