    "well made"

I'm sorry but when did you decide for yourself that this piece of plastic is well made?

Silverstone and LianLi have much better looking cases. And this thing is HUGE. There are ITX cases (again, Silverstone) half that size which still can pack full dual-slot GPU.

Did you even watch the video? The side metal panels and all that are all very strong metal, just the handles are actually Flex Fiber or so it's called, not cheap plastic by the looks of it.

When did you "decided" (decide buddy) to speak before doing so research? :p

For a Mini Mac Pro this ITX case would be awesome. It's very compact and all that. But yes I agree Lian Li probably does have better all aluminum looking cases and such.

I don't care about the case, but I thought that I would step in as the grammar police and inform you that your correction of his grammar is, in fact, incorrect.

LOL he must have corrected it, IDK, I don't care. Whatever. I just thought I'd share this cool case with anyone looking to possible Hackintosh up a build.

Glad someone mentioned Lian Li because now I want to rebuild my HP tower in a Lian Li case :p

    I did watch the video.

You say "just the side panels" that thing doesn't even stand properly and would you lift that with plastic side panels, while spending so much money on the components inside?

Why do you think they made it plastic? Because its rubbish trying to look like a Mac Pro. Its not mini either. So.... why not go DIY on a real Mac Pro case?

Btw English isn't my first language. Bite me. ;)

Rubbish? Its a very nice case, those handles are made of soft plastic so they don't dig into your hands,? Ever carried a PM G5 up 5 stories of stairs? Ouch.

It does not have plastic side panels, they are nice thick metal. The plastic handles are pretty strong as well.

Its not plastic, some parts of it are plastic. But most of the case is metal.

It kinda looks like a Mac Pro, but a lot of other cases do, the Case desing is almost 10 years old in the mac Pro.

This is still much smaller than a Mac Pro.

And Why would I go DIY on a Mac Pro case? Because it'll be a pain in the ass.

I use this one, although mine only has two DVD doors instead of the 4 seen on this one. And more importantly, it doesn't have the stupid floppy door included on this version.

It's made by Lian Li. Extremely well made. Almost identical metals as used on Mac Pros. Much better looking in person. Side feature 6 snap in metal knobs so there is no screws visible or necessary to open. Not sure if they still make it, but it was over 200$ new.

EDIT: the version I have is only tall enough for Micro ATX boards, so it truly is a worthy Mac Pro mini case.

Lian-li are sort-of well made. They still bong when thwacked and can be easily dented. But they are one of the "less-ass" case providers.

Depends which one you get, some are just as solid as Mac Pro cases if I'm not mistaken, as the one is I think above you (if I'm not mistaken). One of the current Lian Li cases uses 2mm thick aluminum side panels. That's gotta be Mac Pro-ish quality there.

Lol I guess my "ultimate Hackintosh case: isn't so ultimate now. But still cool none the less right, RIGHT?

Totally. Super cool. And points for attempted authenticity. :D
Lian-li must have differing grades (as you said) for their cases as 2mm was not what I had seen previously. I saw the kind you needed to use acoustic foam on. And they were only like $129.00 US.

Lian Li definitely sells a range of different quality. They have many 50-150$ cases that are made of that "tinny" material that has the distinct "bong when thwacked."

However they also have a few very high quality cases. The one I have was somewhere around 250$, and feels nearly identical to Mac pro material. It's got the same exact smooth feeling that I love about the Mac pro.

The current version of mine is the PC-v1020: http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/produc...ex=555&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62&g=f

And FYI, the blue fans in the front don't show up as bold as they make it seem in their photos. On mine I can't even see the blue front fans until I'm nearly looking straight at them.

EDIT: here is a quick pic of mine:

Doesn't it look better than the current version.

^That's a Hackintosh that has had very little effort go into it in terms of tidying up the cables and making it look remotely presentable next to a Mac Pro.

If you get the aforementioned GOOD QUALITY Lian Li Mac Pro looking case mentioned earlier in this thread and do a good cable management job it will look very presentable next to a Mac Pro.

Yeah that's what computers are for, to use as decoration with the side panels open.

This entire thread is about quality and appearance of cases.
