I am excited to wait for one of these babies right before my trip to Japan this June, on the 18th. I hope if it's the first Tuesday of June, I'll be able to get on shipped before then... =)

What makes you so certain they will redesign it? Sure it's been a long time, but there is no certainty nor is there even a good probability.

It is also rumored to come in June, but it could come months later. Merom was available for over a month (longer maybe?) before Apple used the chips in the MBP.

Here's a primer on the platform. I bought a MacBook and new desktop back in November so I'm not in any rush to get a new Mac. Maybe I can convince the missus though.

i dont think that the value of the laptop will drop, i think it will hold. there well be a great deal of people who wont want the "new" design (whatever it may be.)

you are talking absolute crap there. read what you write before you hit the submit button!!! people who want the new design are the people of the future. those that don't are lost in time and might as well shun technology completley

uhmm.. i can't agree with you on that completely since up to now i have friends who are still loyal to the 12 inch powerbook.
so in terms of being loyal to a certain look, i don't think that everyone will join the " NEWest/shiniest club
