WB and UPN sucks so why not put em together to make a super suck station.

Ha ha, yeah, most of their shows suck today, but I hope we get more programming like when these networks started nearly a decade ago like Buffy/Angel and UPN when they actually had some original ideas like Nowhere Man.

Yes I agree, Buffy and Angel were by far some of the best shows ever created! Joss Whedon is a brillant writer!!

WB had some more good shows....like Smallville, One tree hill, and Dawsons Creek!

I think its a good thing WB and UPN are merging--both of those networks are so similiar anyway!

Its gonna be interesting to see what happens to the left out affiliate. Most markets carry both networks so somebody is gonna have to get left out on the street.

Well, the reality is that both UPN and The WB carry a max of about 12 hours of programming a week (5 or 6 nights times 2 hours per night)... so it's not going to affect them THAT much. I doubt very much that anyone will lose their jobs, beyond staff at the actual networks (UPN and The WB). Locally, nothing much will change.

I don't know why I like Veronica Mars.
Pretty looking-mystery solving-mac user= Good show? I think so :p.

I'm glad most of the other crud will be gone, though.

Affiliates

The last time we had an affiliate that wasn't associated with a major network up here in Boston they just showed 2 hours of Star Trek reruns in primetime. It only lasted a few months. They called it the Hub. I think its a second Telemundo station now or is it Univision?

I always thought the Charmed girls were quite fetching. Well if you minus Shannon.:p

Syndication

I wonder what's going to happen to all of the syndicated property between the 2 networks or affiliates. I could care less about all of it except for the late night hour of South Park. They better not mess with that.

I'm going to miss all the hot chicks on the UPN....dont know about the WB though.

Lots of good looking people on both networks. Of course, all the teens are in their 30s or close to it. :D

South Park has nothing to do with this... that's only on Comedy Central, as far as I know.

The only think that would happen is that another network would pick up the syndication rights.

Syndication such as that is not a network thing... your station is paying the syndication fee to show it on THEIR channel. Big channels do syndication (TBS and TNT, for example), and so do small channels (your local channel). That's why you can see Seinfeld on TBS and on local channels, or ER on TNT and local channels.

I don't think I've watched UPN at all in the last 10 years.
That is rather sad.
Now I admit I do watch some of the WB shows.
I am open to say I watch Smallville.
I am a closet One Tree Hill viewer.
I love Reba...sorry but I do.
And I kinda like What I like About You. It's funny.
I sorta like Supernatural.
Is Surface on WB? If so then I really like that show.

Merging? I don't care much at all. I read they're keeping Smallville which is most important to me.

I don't know how to feel about this... WB has and has had lots of shows that I like, but I never really watch any UPN shows at all.

Veronica MArs, and smallville, are the only shows worth it on either network. Next TOp Model...eh, Naima was smoking hot and I'd make her my slave, but other than that, no real appeal here. All I want is Arrested Development back on.

This is interesting news.

UPN is total garbage, it used to show Bruins' games a few years ago, but not anymore. WB's alright and has a few interesting shows that I might watch, but right now I don't get WB. My mom and sister watch Gilmour Girls, and being able to watch it at 8 or 9 would probably make them much happier then having to stay up until 10.
