On the topic of HTML5 demos, this one came through my RSS inbox. SVG-Edit lets you create vector images in your browser and is supported in all browsers, except IE of course, unless you're using the Chrome Frame plugin for IE. This shows off some of the possibilities with SVG and Canvas added to the mix in HTML5. Here's the main project page for SVG-Edit for more info.

I just tested it on my MacBookAir1,1 and am extremely impressed. While the fan did speed up, and I reached almost 85º, performed better than most YouTube videos. So come on people, if my little GMAX3100 and Core2Duo can handle it, then I think there's not much that can't.

One weird thing that's happened is I decided to watch it again on my i5-750 GTX260 hackintosh again and it's not loading. I'm currently stuck at the little pre-loader icon in Safari, but it's working in Chrome. Not sure what's up with that.

EDIT: I restarted Safari and it works fine now. I've also decided I like it better in Safari as Chrome to often left a window open, or didn't clean one up, or didn't load one.

It's fun to watch in Exposè.

worked flawlessly on MBPro, OSX 10.6.4, Safari. While music was streaming from internet radio via itunes.

Not a "film" though, not even a movie. And not very interactive (other than the birdies)

Don't underestimate the power of the birdies!!
