Who used to be a photographer and his son (my uncle who is staying with me at the moment) is now an underwater cameraman (see:here).

Anyway, I was speaking to my Granpa yesterday and we were discussing what he wants on his gravestone (he's not dying but we were at a funeral) and he said "Photographers don't die, they just go out of focus" which I felt was quite profound.

Not quite sure what the point of this thread was, just felt the need to share that moment with you all.

sounds like a man which a pretty strong sense of perspective. Good for him. I hope if I reach that age I'll be that well adjusted.

i wish i could say something in the same line when i reach a ripe old age... "IT managers don't die, they just sleep..." and for windows admins "windows admins don't die, they crash...".

Some others:

"Musician's don't die, they just go out of tune"

or

"Musician's don't die, they just de-compose"
