Still on black.. did everything right..

I'm feeling dumb here. Yes I did everything right, I used the config.html with file mobilesafari. I everything looks great when i load LockBackground.html manually (with both ifile & mobilesafari). But it still shows all black

I did lock/unlock for awhile.. nothing. Let it sit and try to load.. nothing. any ideas?

that was first thing i tried, but didnt work whatsoever....there must be too many other changes in the html.

that was why i asked claude about centering the older version.

but now im much happier with the older version i tweaked(pics above) which updates better for me....

the cache version just wasnt updating correctly ,mostly showing sun 3-4 hours into the nightime, while the yahoo app showed moon correctly.

still love the theme overal, just easier for me to ssh the original NON CACHE version.

The only thing I can imagine that's causing your issue is your update interval.
The weather script is identical... I rewrote the thing from the original and I copied the same rewritten code over. :)

Just a food for thought on the caching idea for those conscious about their data usage:
YahooWeather: 2.33KB/fetch ----- @ 1 minute interval = 1440 fetches = 3.28MB/day(24 hrs) ----- @ 30 min interval = 48 fetches = 112KB/day
AccuWeather: 9.37KB/fetch ----- @ 1 minute interval = 1440 fetches = 13.18MB/day ----- @ 30 min interval = 48 fetches = 450KB/day

So be sensible with your update interval frequency if u do care about data use--especially for those on a 200MB data plan from AT&T. If you set update interval to 1 minute and uses accuweather, you can easily rack up 390MB of use over 30 days.
If you are using the cached version, that is what it boils down to.
If you are NOT using the cached version, it is the same as above + how ever many times you lock your phone in a day. This is because it already has the timer going, but it does not have cached data to use when you lock the phone, so it has to perform a fetch.

I think YahooWeather updates their RSS feed by the hour. Also, the reason why AccuWeather's fetches are much larger is because it includes everything... 7 days forecast, moon phases, planetary cycles, sunset, sunrise, etc. Where as yahooWeather is simply the current condition.

Simply take the Slantedlock.css from the cached version and drop it in the "'old" version. They will look the same.

Worked perfectly for me. Now the "old" version which I prefer looks identical to the new "centered" version. Maybe you ought to get a "clean" copy of the new Slantedlock.css and try it again.

I just downloaded 1.5.2 version of slanted lock and now it won't load. Lockscreen all black. Help!

Got mine all set up, took a while to figure out where to put the code but it's finally commplete. The background changes depending on the time of day. I have the same setup for the LockMS lockscreen, just in case I get a creek in my neck from looking at the slanted screen for too long.:)

Ok buddy, you gotta share the wealth! I love those modified wallpapers! May I?

In exchange, I may even write you a better/more optimized time script. Deal?!

Nice! This would be a great addition to SlantedLock. Hopefully you can tell us how you have your wallpapers change depending on what time of the day it is.

Since I rarely turn my phone off I just happened to notice that the power down slider tray doesn't match the style of the slide to unlock and slide to answer slider trays. Instead, it's a white/gray looking rectangle that just doesn't belong.

Anyone can easily fix this graphic, just look for topbarbkgnd@2x.png and make it completely transparent.

Ah thanks for yet another tip! I'll fix this in the next release.

I already souped up the online detection script. I think my previous approach was causing mad lag in offline mode.

COOL!!!! how do i do this in SlantLock.theme?

Is there an option to remove the weather altogether? I'm loving that I can modify it from mobile safari. Thanks for that update. But right now, i would like the same version with no weather. That would mean me going through CSS and removing those lines. An if statement would be nice to remove the weather.

İs it possible use for iPad? or one iPad version?
Main question is "file:// for MobileSafari" and "Clock hide" working for iPad or not?:)

Claude,

i would love to use your CACHE version, but why doesnt it update when it gets dark outside? I showed a sun for 4 hrs after sunset, then moon finally came on.

yahoo had updated immediately like normal but your cache version did not.

did you fix this in newest version? if so i will try it.

BTW here is how to setup rotating wallpaper....

thanks!

Thanks for the compliments guys. The link to the code was already posted above and the setup is totally different and way more complicated from the LockMS. I'm sure Claude can easily add it for you guys to this theme.

Claude here's the link to the wallpapers.

Dear Santa "Claude",

You have to get this to work with your current theme (SlantedLock v1.5). This is awsome I had it working with the old MSTheme and it was a nice touch to have the changing wallpapers.

Thanks hidefguy for sharing your wallpapers and for the idea.:D

this is really awesome, it worked perfect too
thank you!

all i had to do was turn off Summerboard in Winterboard (never installed it before) since my icon text was gray

surely you don't have to enter that all in on the phone.. pardon my ignorance
but do you edit that file by SSHing into the phone from your comp?

Hmm... Not sure what you're seeing. Can you do me a favor and double check yahoo's update time by doing the following:

Whenever you see the discrepancies you described about sun and moon and lag time, do this:
- go to your computer and load http://weather.yahoo.com/
- find your location and MAKE SURE it's the url is the SAME WOEID as the one you are using on your phone. If is not, just change the number in the url to the woeid you use on your phone and hit enter.
- Now load another page and go to this url:
http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?u=f&w=SAME_WOEID_HERE

The first link is how you would see weather normally on a computer on yahoo weather page.
The second link is the exact link your phone should be seeing.
If those two links above show the same thing, then note the update time on them.(it says so on the page)

Now, your phone may not be fetching new data yet because its not at its next interval, so it may show incorrect information until its next update... but lets force it to fetch new data by changing something in the config.html. Just change your time display from 12 hr to 24 hr or the other way around. Lock your phone and it should be forced to fetch new data.

Finally, if the phone still refuses to display the same relevant information as the first two links, then there is some issue with the fetching. Note that the icon used on the phone is not a good measure since you have been pointing out their incorrect icon references.

The point is that if you still find discrepancies after checking the two weather pages on your computer and then forcing the phone to update, then there's issue with the data fetching. If the phone displays the same data as the SECOND url, then it is functioning as it should. I noticed sometimes that yahoo weather doesn't update until at LEAST 1 hour delay. Like right now, it is now 9:42AM where I'm at, but the info on yahoo weather is showing last update time at 8:55AM. http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?u=f&w=2408784&bustCache=10501

(I added the bustCache number to prevent the browser caching old data. just change that to some random nomber when you check to ensure no cache use.)

Already ahead of ya. :) This is the very first option in the configuration. Unless, of course, you're not using the latest version.

Not sure on those. I don't have an iPad and don't think I will ever buy one. :p

I use WinSCP to drag and drop files back and forth from my phone to my Windows machine. You can edit them as you wish and drop them right back onto the phone.

I set up the rotating wallpapers with 7 different scenes. I quite like it.
