Someone at Apple really loves to come up with a slightly different Pencil that’s only compatible with the latest iPads every few years …

I bought the first Apple Pencil back in the day. Soon, it was not compatible with current iPads anymore. I bought the second generation Pencil thinking that was just a fluke and Apple figuring things out. But nope, that one is also not compatible with the latest iPads anymore since earlier today. I don’t think I will get another one with my next iPad.
 
I don't think the iPad lineup is confusing or messy at all, like so many others do, especially now with the elimination of the 9th-gen iPad.

But this Pencil lineup, good god... What a messy, fragmented, confusing lineup.
 
Totally. And why does the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) have the same price as the Apple Pencil Pro?

I'm sure that their vision is to have two models – one "regular" Apple Pencil, one Apple Pencil Pro. But somehow along the way they caused this mess …
