Well this time there are just too many rumors all over the place about new Apple products (iphone nano) or long awaited upgrades (macPro, macMini, iMac) or even new OS (SnowLeopard). I guess from what it looks, all those are mostly unlikely to happen in MacWorld this year, they are too much dont you think? So what would be the most likely to be announced this year?
Guys, you can vote for more than one options, but just make the vote, what you think seems probable/possible to be announced rather than what you would like to see!
You fail. Snow Leopard will be June at the earliest, more likely August/September. There are hardly any betas out and nothing on the torrent sites.
I reckon the iMac, Mac Mini and Cinema Displays will be upgraded. My predictions; -Both computers will have mini-DisplayPort -the Mini and entry level iMac will have the 9400, the other iMac models will have a beefier GPU (no need for two, as there is no battery life to extend). -iMac will only have FW800, the Mini will (sadly) drop it. -LED option for iMacs. If they made all panels LED, they would cost way too much. -No blu-ray in either computer. -Mini will have aluminium enclosure with black glass top. -Cinema displays will go LED, but I'm hoping they keep a Matte option. Pros will flock to 3rd party hardware if they go glossy. -10.6 will be demo'ed, but not released. A release date will be made.
Scarlet Fever, please be more specific next time... -Both computers will have mini-DisplayPort Agreed, his Jobsness said it himself didnt he? -the Mini and entry level iMac will have the 9400, the other iMac models will have a beefier GPU (no need for two, as there is no battery life to extend). Hadn't thought about the battery life issue, but it seems like a good idea. -iMac will only have FW800, the Mini will (sadly) drop it. I hope (for Mac Mini users' sake) that it will at least get 400, although after the Macbook issue, it looks very much like it may not. -LED option for iMacs. If they made all panels LED, they would cost way too much. LED i can see happening, but knowing Apple they could make it compulsory and bump the price a little. -No blu-ray in either computer. Just a bag of hurt... -Mini will have aluminium enclosure with black glass top. Assuming it follows the black/aluminium look like the rest of the mac line-up, the Mini could look pretty cool. Some of the Mac Mini Mockups have looked okay actually. -Cinema displays will go LED, but I'm hoping they keep a Matte option. Pros will flock to 3rd party hardware if they go glossy. Imagine the reaction if the displays went all glossy....oh god. -10.6 will be demo'ed, but not released. A release date will be made. I think you are spot on Just my thoughts PS i voted Mac Mini and Snow Leopard
Yup I have to agree, but I think the Mac Pro might be mentioned but it would suck if they made that display port only. ChrisN
I'm wondering how I could get more specific. I have absolutely no knowledge of what's happening at the event, so all the points I made are speculation, which means they are always going to be a bit vague. I'm not willing to give specs of the new computers, because I don't follow what Intel is doing, and, frankly, I don't care, because I am unlikely to buy one, because I don't need one. I imagine they will still have DVI. Are there any cards on the market with only DisplayPort?
I kinda doubt it.....MWSF never really has focused on that line of computers. If it does, it won't be the big thing during the keynote
Let's not forget about the Media Server and iLife updates.......... But I am hoping for the Mac Mini and Snow Leopard.
