I think he trashed the ones that were currently on the market: not enough storage and poor user interface. When Apple was able to overcome those issues they came out with a flash product.
Exactly. Some people just take this stuff too seriously, and yet they still don't pay attention. He was talking about those 32 and 64MB ones that no one used. He didn't say anything about a nice looking one with 512 - 1024MB. With the 3GHz, he was just saying "this is what IBM told me", and everybody forgets that part where he ended with "we hope". So we're moving to Intel because of things like that. He never said we wouldn't, just that at the time, he claimed PPC was better for some things. Intel will be better now (well, later... we hope), so we're going with that. Same with the Mighty Mouse. You grow, you evolve, you change with the times.

Sure video player was stupid. Maybe it still is. But if Apple does release one, any doubt about it being insanely great? :p

Steave Jobs also said a mac would never have a fan. loooong time ago.

Yeah and Al Gore believes he invented the internet.
There are some things that people say that are questionable. Agreed. But I am not talking about a quote from a long time ago (if Jobs ever said anything like you claim). We are talking about a quote from a few months ago. Let's keep this all in perspective.
I don't understand why you would want to watch a movie on your iPod, and I don't think that selling music videos is anything worth making an entirely new iPod over. New Macs should be expected (or something better?).

Not sure if you were trying to be ironic, but for those that don't know, apparently he never said he did. ;)
But you knew what I meant. Regardless of what the "record" states.

I do like how the big media centers are talking about the video iPod. They'll be wrong again (or some more lawsuits will start flying). Apple learned a lesson from the Mac Mini and iPod shuffle fiasco.

I've been trying to tell you people that there has been such a device in the labs for almost 4 years and people laughed. Now, it's come, finally. :) It does look a whole lot different, though.
