iPhone There should be a JB tweak that notifies you when a message doesn't send...

Does one exist? I know there is one that notifies you while you're still in the app, but you don't know how many times I have exited the messaging app, went to do something else, come to find hours later that my text never sent (I don't really pay attention to Messages app icon to check for the exclamation point) A local push notification wouldn't be a bad idea to let you know that you message never sent. Am I the only one who has this issue? Is something like this doable?

I have never had this issue because if a message doesn't properly get sent I see the exclamation point badge on the app icon while I'm browsing my springboard. But the only times my phone might not send a message is when I'm sendin a couple pics and it fails. Personally I rarely have failed messages. Having said that, this isn't a bad idea for people who frequently have failed messages. I imagine a banner notification wouldn't be too difficult to implement since the phone already recognizes a failed message and populates the exclamation point. I imagine you could use this trigger to initiate a banner.

I've never seen nor heard of a tweak that gives this capability but it's not a bad idea. If you find a solution please let us know.

This should be something that's VERY signal. I live in an area with HORRIBLE reception, and I frequently have failed messages. AT&T won't provide me with an M-Cell for free, and this is the reality I have to face lol. BUT if anyone with any kind of coding experience could do this, that would be great and highly appreciated.

I don't browse my springboard very frequently, so I always catch the messages not sending like WAY after I originally sent it, and it hits me that I never received a reply from my recipient.

I second this motion for someone who is technically skilled to develop a tweak for this! The point isn't that there is still an exclamation point on the app when you're browsing...the problem is that more often than not, I quickly lock my phone after sending an SMS and put my phone in my pocket and go about my business. Unless it's a really important message, I shouldn't/don't just sit there looking at my screen until my message sends unless I'm going to do something else on my phone. Many times I just open my phone to send a quick message then turn it off again. Sometimes, to make sure it sends, I hold my phone's mic up to my ear so I can hear the swoosh sound when it sends, haha. It'd be nice not to have to do this for confirmation...

Thank you!! I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

If you use bitesms then you can set it to keep retrying so you never need to worry about it not sending as it will just keep trying.

The only time you would have a issue is if the number incorrect.

+1 on this. Why would you need your phone to notify you if message sent failed when biteSMS can keep retrying to send it until you get a signal.

The Bitesms "retry on failed" feature is great. The problem is it does not support iMessage or MMS. For me, I use retry on failed and it works great. But a lot of times when I text pictures it fails because it's a lot of data. Since this feature does not work, I need to stare at the progress bar on bitesms to confirm it was sent. I send a ton of pictures via text at work. It would be easier if I got a banner notification and/or sound when it fails to send properly.

Retry on failed only works if your phone gets to signal within a certain period of time. If your phone stays in an area with no service, then that doesn't work. Also, like other said above, it doesn't work for MMS. If you get a little vibration or sound from your phone you'd then realize you need to move it into an area with signal so you can resend the message.

That's how I look at it at least.

I don't +1 on this because not only would a notification be nice for the above reasons, but also BiteSMS only retries to send for a limited number of times. Now, Bite lets you select a good number of retries so it's unlikely that you're message won't send unless you're totally out of reception for a while, but still, there's that chance that after all the retries are up, you still haven't sent the message.

Thank you so much! A little notification would be amazing so you realize that you have to move your phone to an area with signal.

Bite will attempt to send your text for the second time if the first one fails. If there's still no signal, Bite is smart enough to know that and it will be in idle mode. As soon as you pick up a signal then it will send it again.
