It looks like there will be an other update to 10.13 as there is a developer beta for a Security Update 2020-006 10.13.6.
Just a heads up.
Just a heads up.
In my case I checked the App Store and it showed updates available.Did you get it from the developer portal or the regular update system?
I have only seen it as a developer beta at this time.
Does anyone have the "sw.cdn. .......... " direct download link for this update? it is STILL not on the Apple Downloads page ..... thanks
That is not the link that he/she needs. That is telling how to get install images for new installs and not updates. How to download and install macOS - Apple Support
Download and install current or previous versions of the Mac operating system on compatible Mac computers.support.apple.com
Yes, I misread the post. My mistake. That is not the link that he/she needs. That is telling how to get install images for new installs and not updates.
It seems like apple has not uploaded it yet.
Anyway, the update showed up in the app store, and I'm running an unsupported Mac.
For app store update installs to work without errors on an unsupported system you need to be sure your boot drive is APFS formatted. That means one can install the Security Update 2020-006 (that is only available via the App Store) just like that, even for an unsupported Mac ?
I would be glad to know that. Had asked already in the thread on running High Sierra on unsupported Macs but did not receive any answer there ...
You can get it here...Hmm, I just installed the 2020-005 about a week ago but I haven't seen the 006 in App Store.
Oh okay, thanks. I wonder why it's not in the App Store, taken the importance of security updates actually getting through to users. You can get it here...
Security Update 2020-006 (High Sierra) - Apple Support (KW)
Security Update 2020-006 is recommended for all users and improves the security of macOS.support.apple.com
The 2020-006 update installed for me on 2 machines, a 2008 macpro3,1 running High Sierra and a 2009 4,1->5,1 running Mojave, in each case without any issues.Oh okay, thanks. I wonder why it's not in the App Store, taken the importance of security updates actually getting through to users.
And um, what's the talk about unsupported Macs? Mine is a late 2009 2 x 2,4 Ghz 6-core Mac Pro that's EFI flashed to 5,1. A bit concerned before installing anything outside of App Store because I know that it's not current.
