For a country of your size, you sure have very little variety in terms of good beer readily available for mass consumption.
Nobody ever said that there isn't a single good beer made in America.
Maybe it's because I've only lived on the coasts (I've noticed the midwest has far less variety in terms of good beer) but I find it much easier to find a good, flavorful beer in the areas I've lived in than watered down lagers.
Even the supermarkets I frequent - about as mass consumer-centric as you can get - have excellent domestic beer selections, far more craft and microbrews than Buds and Millers.
