Just found this.. on the Apple developer site.. from June 5, 2013.

The last one was the Aperture 2.1 SDK, from April 21, 2008. Wow, 5 years later they update it!

News of this was posted a couple weeks ago. Agree, it looks like good news for Aperture users.
