There's tax on apps?

I find it strange how some things are taxed from iTunes and some aren't. Some movies/TV shows/music I buy aren't taxed but sometimes they are.
 
Could have swore android store was taxed too? I seem to remember paying sales tax when I had my droid 2 years ago?

Apple has always charged taxes here as well on the iTunes Store. What bugged me was the raising of song prices from .99 to $1.29

I haven't experienced this yet. When I get my iTunes receipts it says 0.99 total. Never saw anything about taxes on my receipts.
 
Just for the record, I think that sales tax on software is an utter rip-off because according to every EULA I've ever seen, you don't own the software, just a license to use it.

How do you guys fund public services? Is it the tatoos?
 
op my state just starting charging tax on apps about a year ago (7%). however songs,movies,tv shows no tax just on apps.
