I've seen a few threads from people who have replaced their thermal paste on their rMBP 15", but never saw any before and after. I'll report my numbers in the event no one else has yet. I didn't do anything elaborate, but just food for thought. Oh, and I only tested in Windows 7 on Bootcamp.

    GPU stress test program: OCCT
    CPU stress test program: Prime95
    Thermal paste: Prolima PK-1

Here's the max temps after 20 minutes of stress:
    Before: 101 105, 105, 101 for CPU, 89 for GPU
    After: 99, 100, 97, 93 for CPU, 85 for GPU

Not a major difference, but still worth it for those with a couple minutes, the necessary tools, and motivation.

U have an highly efficient CPU-heat sink coupling when the temp of both are only a few degrees apart at all times.
